  12. Welcome Sysop!

  14. We are glad that you are interested in echoing Tech-Net. A lot of effort
  15. has gone into its creation. We are presently looking for Hubs, Nodes, and
  16. yes, even moderators for quite a few conferences.
  17.  
  18. We want people who are going to help us reach our goal of bringing
  19. TECHNOLOGY TO THE MASSES. Though you need not run a large BBS to join us,
  20. we would like to know that you operate a quality BBS. We want to
  21. run a top of the line network and to do that we need top of the line
  22. people!

  33. ══════════[TECH-NET MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS]══════════════════════════════

  35. Sysops who are interested in echoing Tech-Net must fill out a Tech-Net
  36. application and upload it to the Host System (The Archives BBS) for
  37. review by the Net Administrator (N.A.).  Systems applying for access
  38. should have an answer within five working days from the receipt of the
  39. application, though most will be processed within 24 hours.
  40.  
  41. Before completing the application, all Sysops must read this file and the
  42. TN_GUIDE.TXT in their entirety. Though Tech-Net isn't a difficult net to
  43. echo, the rules are important. Sysops echoing Tech-Net are not only
  44. expected to follow those rules, but to enforce them on their system as
  45. well.

  47. To apply for net access your system must meet these minimum requirements:

  50. 1. Legally registered version of PCBoard, TriBBS, WildCat or TBBS.
  51.  
  52. 2. Legally registered version of Rnet, Qnet, Tnet, or Trinet.
  53.  
  54. 3. Legally registered .QWK Mail Door.
  55.  
  56. 4. All users must be verified via voice or verification door.
  57.  
  58. 5. Your system must be accessible 24 hours a day - 7 days a week.
  59.  
  60. 6. Your system must have been online for at least 6 months.
  61.  
  62. 7. No Pirate/Hacker or otherwise Illegal boards are allowed.
  63.  
  64. 8. At present there are no fees for echoing Tech-Net. However , this may
  65.    change in the future depending on the costs associated with running a
  66.    network. Enjoy!

  69. ══════════[TECH-NET SYSOP RULES]════════════════════════════════════════

  71. 1. Nodes and Hubs must attempt to make a mail run at least once per day.
  72.  
  73. 2. Nodes and Hubs must have a current Tech-Net Info Packet available for
  74.    download and must upload all applications to The Archives BBS.

  76. 3. Nodes & Hubs must, at the minimum, carry these conferences:
  77.    TECH_ADMIN (Private)   TECH_TALK    TECH_MOD   TECH_NEWS
  78.  
  79. 4. No cross-linking of Tech-Net conferences is allowed.
  80.  
  81. 5. Hubs cannot deny access to Tech-Net conferences unless so informed
  82.    by the Net Administrator. Conversely, any refusal to deny a locked-out
  83.    user will result in the Hub being dropped from Tech-Net.

  85. 6. All net problems, ideas or complaints should be discussed in
  86.    TECH_ADMIN and not in the public conferences.

  88. 7. All Tech-Net conference taglines should begin with ■ Tech-Net ■.

  90. 8. Recurrent failure of the above rules will result in the offending
  91.    Node or Hub being suspended or expelled from Tech-Net.
